I was born and raised in California but was drawn to European culture from a young age. In 1999 I was lucky enough to move permanently to Europe and since have lived in France, Belgium, Italy and my current home England.

My first feature documentary film was about the Parisian photographer Eugène Atget and the American photographer Berenice Abbott and since I have made numerous feature documentary and short films which have been aired on television throughout the world and screened in International Film Festivals such as Telluride & London BFI. My interests are in art and literature so it is no surprise that the films I make are usually about artists and writers.

Over the years I have been interviewed on National Public Radio (NPR) in the USA and on BBC Radio in the UK. To listen click: NPR(1),  NPR(2) & BBC Radio.

Along with making/writing films I am also a musician/composer. I make music for all the films I create as well as composing/performing music for other projects.
